The consortium is composed of two Portuguese companies that combine complementary expertise and knowledge across the technical, financial and legal domains.
Together, the two partners ensure the technical capabilities required for the development of the project and, by holding a relevant position in the water-energy sector, guarantee the active engagement of key stakeholders, such as utilities, sector associations, national agencies and government entities, within WENexus.

Consortium leader and technical and financial partner, with great expertise in energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainability, water, sanitation and water resources management.
The Equator Company is a multidisciplinary consulting firm established in 2025 through the strategic integration of four companies, including S317 Consulting and ENGIDRO Engineering Solutions, bringing together more than 45 years of combined experience in engineering, environment, energy, social impact and sustainability consulting.
With a strong focus on the energy transition, renewable energy systems and sustainable infrastructure, The Equator Company develops integrated solutions covering the entire project lifecycle, from strategic planning and regulatory framework development to engineering design, construction supervision, institutional capacity building and performance monitoring.
The company actively supports governments, utilities, regulators, development partners and private operators in the design and implementation of sustainable energy programmes and integrated water resource management, with a presence in over 30 countries across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Americas and Asia.
In Portugal, it has comprehensive sector knowledge, supported by successful projects with multiple water utilities
